Fish-hooked on MG-111

Photographer's Description: A goliath grouper on the MG-111 shows signs of surviving a fisherman's hook, with proper hook removal and handling techniques, these resilient giants can recover and continue to spawn another day.

Two Friends

Photographer's Description: Dive Trip in Jupiter....Just Two friends Diving Together!!

Glamour Shot on Bonaire III

Photographer's Description: …We had a gorgeous, mostly sunny day with light winds and barely any swell. The current was unusual, slowly moving south, and visibility was phenomenal—at least 90 feet! The Goliath Grouper were relaxed and curious, making multiple passes through our group of divers. We spent the majority of our first dive at the beautiful ESSO Bonaire III wreck where this photo was taken. A large, friendly grouper came in for a glamour shot. She was accompanied by a clingy remora and a school of grunts, rather than the ordinary baitfish. We were tremendously grateful for this magical day in the ocean with the trusted Kyalami Crew. My friend got a much-needed break, and I captured memories of a lifetime for us both.

Colorful Giant

Photographer's Description: We dove MG 111 and had several GG that kept circling us, I was able to catch this one with the colorful corals encrusting the wreck.

Playing Peek-A-Boo

Photographer's Description: Amazing day diving on the Zion Wreck in Jupiter. Playing peek-a-boo around the side of the wreck with these two gentle Goliaths!

Cheeky First Dive

Photographer's Description: My first dive with Kyalami and my first nitrox dive. I think this one wanted to give me a kiss on the cheek just after this picture.

Wreck Trek Trio

Photographer's Description: I took this while diving Wreck Trek as part of a Veterans outreach/immersion program with The Georgia Aquarium.

Vibin’ on Tunnels

Photographer's Description: Diving with Kyalami on Tunnels. It's the big one that got away... :)

Majestic Giant

Photographer's Description: I took this picture at the Jupiter wreck trek. I love Goliath grouper season in South Florida! They are such majestic creatures. This poor grouper has a hole in his face. I'm excited to go out with you in West Palm soon to see more of these amazing creatures!!

”Jigs” Loves Jacks

Photographer's Description: This Goliath is from Dive location “Area 52”. He followed me the entire dive until I came across a school of yellow jacks. He acted like my best friend posing for pics along the way. Once I lined up my koah speargun on a jack, the Goliath I named him “jigs“ (for the fishing lures dangling from his lips) rushed me and clamped down on my spear gun. I was able to wrestle the gun out of his mouth and finally make the shot on the jack. Once I hit the jack we all know what happened...another wrestling match as “jigs “ grabbed the jack. He won and I went home with a great memory.

Zion Beauty

Photographer's Description: Love the aggregation season! Where else can you get within 2 feet of these amazing fish? Jupiter & West Palm have major aggregations starting end of August through beginning of October. This picture was taken on Saturday Sept 7, 2024 during a 3 tank trip. Conditions were so good that we did a double dip on the Zion wreck trek. Shot with Nikon D-500, Tokina 10-17mm @ 15mm f5.0 & 1/200.

Gentle Giant

Friendly Giant

Photographer's Description: In Zion train, this grouper liked me, and said hello to everyone.

Baitfish Bonanza

Photographer's Description: My wife and I dove with Kyalami Charters in Jupiter, FL. When this photo was taken there were at least 30 of the Goliath Groupers hanging around a small reef system that had some swim through's where there were a large amount of bait fish swimming around the groupers. I happened to catch this photo at the right time using my GoPro black.

Juno Ledge Rockstar

Buddy & Friend

Photographer's Description: Dive Buddy up beside the Goliath to give perspective on its size! What a fish!!

Zen Amongst Chaos

Photographer's Description: A day out on the Jupiter boat that didn't exactly go as planned…The conditions were rough, and the second dive was scrapped altogether. But even with the current kicking up on the wreck trek, we managed to get one dive in – and it was worth it! Caught this epic shot of a Goliath Grouper, reminding me why even the toughest days on the water are always memorable.

Goliath Groupies

Photographer's Description: Diving with Kyalami off Jupiter on September 7. We had very friendly goliaths! This one let me get real close and photograph it after hanging out with it for a good 5 minutes.
